Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has expressed confidence that the Black Stars will get their revenge when Côte d’Ivoire travel to Ghana for the return fixture.
Following Ghana’s defeat to the Elephants, Queiroz pointed to the closely contested historical record between the two West African rivals and backed his side to level the score in their next meeting.
“When Côte d’Ivoire come, with all due respect, it will be our turn to win,” Queiroz said.
The Portuguese tactician noted that the current head-to-head score stands at 16-15 in Côte d’Ivoire’s favour, but expects Ghana to draw level when the teams meet again.
“The score is 16-15 now, so in a couple of months it will be 16-16. I have no doubt we’re going to win that game.”
Queiroz’s comments set the stage for another highly anticipated chapter in the rivalry, with the Ghana coach already looking ahead to the next encounter and confident his team can respond with victory.
