Côte d’Ivoire take a 1-0 lead over Ghana at half-time in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying clash, with Malick Yalcouyé’s late first-half strike separating the two sides.
Ghana created an early opportunity in the 20th minute when Ernest Nuamah spotted the Ivorian goalkeeper off his line and attempted to catch him out from distance. However, his effort drifted narrowly wide of the post.
The Black Stars continued to compete for control of the game, but Côte d’Ivoire eventually found the breakthrough in the 44th minute.
Malick Yalcouyé finished to put the Elephants ahead just before the interval, leaving Ghana with a deficit to overturn after the break.
