Former Senegal head coach Pape Thiaw has formally demanded payment of 423,820,300 CFA francs, approximately US$745,000, from the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF).
Thiaw, through his lawyer, has reportedly served a formal notice on the federation, seeking settlement of the outstanding amount, which is said to cover a range of unpaid entitlements accumulated during his time in charge of the national team.
The claim reportedly includes unpaid salaries, bonuses, housing allowances and travel expenses, as well as bonuses linked to Senegal’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign and qualification for the FIFA World Cup.
The FSF has been urged to settle the outstanding amount within the stipulated period. Failure to do so could result in Thiaw pursuing legal action to recover the money.
The development adds another layer to Thiaw’s departure from the Senegal national team setup as both parties seek to resolve the financial dispute.
