Egypt coach Hossam Hassan hospitalized after family dispute

Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan reportedly required hospitalization after witnessing a violent altercation between his two wives. According to several Egyptian media outlets, a verbal argument between the two women escalated into a physical confrontation, prompting several people, including the former Egypt international, to intervene.

A video circulating on social media appears to show the incident, although the circumstances surrounding the footage remain unclear.

The altercation reportedly had a significant impact on Hassan, who allegedly collapsed after witnessing the confrontation and then received medical attention. The incident has also reportedly affected his personal life, with Cadena SER claiming that the coach has decided to divorce his first wife, Howaida Al-Gharbawi. She later told Al-Arabiya that “the secrets of this house will remain within its walls and will not leave, even after the divorce.”

The story has attracted considerable attention in Egypt, where Hassan continues to lead the national team. Polygamy remains legal in Egypt, allowing a man to have up to four wives simultaneously. However, the reported dispute and its consequences have placed the coach’s private life under intense public scrutiny.
