George Ilenikhena has made his desire to leave Al-Ittihad clear after struggling for regular playing time since his €30 million move from Monaco. The Nigerian striker scored twice against Al-Najma in the King’s Cup on Tuesday, once again showing his ability when given an opportunity.
With the transfer window approaching its final days, Ilenikhena wants to return to Europe, while several clubs have already contacted Al-Ittihad about a possible deal.
Sevilla have now stepped up their efforts to sign the 19-year-old forward. Bologna previously offered a loan with a €22 million purchase option, while Trabzonspor proposed a similar deal with a €15 million option, but Al-Ittihad rejected both approaches. The Saudi club remains open to a departure because it needs fresh funds, but it wants around €20 million with a significant upfront payment.
Sevilla have made a verbal offer worth €10 million, plus €3 million in bonuses and a substantial percentage of a future transfer fee. The Spanish club hopes these terms can convince Al-Ittihad to release the former Monaco player. Ilenikhena’s recent brace could further strengthen his position as Sevilla push to complete the deal before the transfer window closes.
