Uganda Premier League: Giants KCCA FC, SC Villa braced for tough openers

KCCA FC and Villa will hope to take advantage of champions Vipers’ slip up on the opening day when they face NEC and Kitara at home respectively.

The clash between the Kasasiro and NEC is a repeat of the Fufa Super 8 final match which Brian Ssenyondo’s men won 1-0 courtesy of Said Mayanja’s penalty.

For NEC, revenge is on the cards but a decent start is also imperative if they are to challenge for this season’s title. They also begin life without Joseph Sseremba who was sold to Nairobi United and it remains to be seen whether new acquisition Fahad Bayo will be fit to start.

This will be a different task and Wasswa Bbosa will hope to use the game as trial match for the Caf Confederation match versus Mogadishu City.

Elsewhere, league new comers Blacks Power and Ntugasaze face off at Hoima City stadium, Lugazi host Kigezi Home Boyz, Mbarara City are away to Police while Kataka take on UPDF at Bukedea.
