Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has postponed all Kenyan Premier League Round One matches that were scheduled to be played between Monday, August 31 and Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
In a communication to clubs, the federation’s Leagues and Competitions Department said the postponement will allow for further deliberations between FKF, participating clubs and the league sponsors on the management of the 2026/27 season.
“This is so as to allow for deliberations between the Federation, participating Clubs and the League sponsors that will provide direction and guidance on the management of the League for the upcoming Season,” part of the communication reads.
FKF said the Round One fixtures, alongside the full-season schedule, will be communicated to clubs and other stakeholders “within the shortest time possible.”
The decision comes after growing uncertainty over the start of the new season following disagreements between FKF and clubs over the league’s commencement and applicable promotion and relegation regulations.
