Chelsea have stepped up their efforts to sign Senegal international Lamine Camara, with discussions underway and a deal potentially being concluded as early as possible.
The Blues are reportedly negotiating with AS Monaco over a move for the 22 year old midfielder, who has emerged as a leading target as Chelsea prepare for the possible departure of Enzo Fernández. Reports indicate that Chelsea are aiming for a rapid agreement before the transfer window closes.
The potential move has also received the approval of Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso, who is understood to have personally gathered information about Camara.
Alonso reportedly wanted to learn more about the Senegalese midfielder’s personality and whether he could make an immediate impact in the demanding environment at Stamford Bridge.
Camara has established himself as an important player at Monaco since moving from Metz. His performances have attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, but Chelsea have now accelerated their pursuit.
Reports suggest Monaco could demand a fee in the region of €60 million, with Chelsea looking to move quickly to secure the Senegal star.
