Four years after being selected 39th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, Khalifa Diop has finally made the leap to the NBA.
The 2.11-meter Senegalese center has just officially signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a four-year contract worth 9.26 million dollars.
After several impressive seasons playing in Europe, notably with Baskonia in the Liga ACB and the EuroLeague, the Dakar native is set to take the big leap.
This signing is a testament to the patience of the Ohio franchise, which has closely followed his development across the Atlantic.
The arrival of the young big man will bring physicality and paint protection to Cleveland’s frontcourt.
Khalifa Diop will now have the task of establishing himself in the Cavaliers rotation and writing an exciting new chapter for Senegalese basketball at the highest level in the world.
