Paul Onuachu returned to the scoresheet in emphatic fashion, scoring twice before being forced off injured as Trabzonspor cruised to a 5-0 home victory over Genclerbirligi in the Turkish Süper Lig.
The Nigerian striker opened the scoring in the fifth minute before doubling his tally in the 23rd minute, helping Trabzonspor establish a commanding advantage. He was subsequently withdrawn in the 44th minute after appearing to suffer an injury.
Mohamed Salah added Trabzonspor’s second from the penalty spot in the 14th minute, while Ernest Muçi and Franculino completed the rout in the second half.
Chibuike Nwaiwu also impressed in the dominant home display, starting at centre-back and playing until the 83rd minute before being replaced. He was booked during the encounter.
The result marked a strong response from Trabzonspor, while Onuachu’s brace ended his wait for a league goal this season.
