Nigeria’s Super Falcons will be led by Austin Eguavoen on an interim basis as the team prepares for their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying fixtures against Comoros in October.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed Eguavoen’s temporary appointment as the search for a substantive head coach for the women’s national team continues.
Eguavoen, who has previously handled Nigeria’s senior men’s team on an interim basis, will now take charge of the Super Falcons as they begin their Olympic qualification campaign.
The experienced coach is expected to oversee preparations and guide the Falcons through their two-legged encounter with Comoros.
The October fixtures will be an important test for the Super Falcons as they aim to secure a place at the 2028 Olympic Games.
The NFF is still working to appoint a permanent head coach who will take charge of the team beyond the Olympic qualifying matches.
