Lamine Camara opens up about failed Chelsea move

Lamine Camara has opened up about his failed move to Chelsea after coming close to leaving Monaco on deadline day. The Senegalese midfielder admitted that the situation proved “turbulent and difficult” but insisted that he quickly refocused on his football.

Despite his disappointment, Camara stayed professional and returned to action with Monaco, helping the team beat PSG 2-1. The 22-year-old confirmed that he had a chance to join Chelsea but refused to dwell on what happened. “There was a possibility I might leave, but it didn’t happen at the last minute,” he explained.

Camara believes such situations happen in football and wants to focus on the season rather than his failed transfer. His recent performances against Marseille and PSG have already shown his strong return to the Monaco squad.

Camara remains convinced that another opportunity will come if he continues to perform at a high level. “If it doesn’t come back around, it will be because I gave up or didn’t work hard enough,” he said. Supported by coach Filipe Luis and teammates such as Denis Zakaria and Eric Dier, the Senegal international wants to use the experience to grow and remain focused on Monaco’s objectives.
