CAFCL: Gor Mahia land in Cairo for Pyramids test

Gor Mahia arrived safely in the Egyptian capital ahead of the Sunday’s CAF Champions League return leg match against Pyramids, touching down at Cairo International Airport at exactly 10:47mlocal time.

After clearing immigration and making the short transfer into the city, the delegation settled into a hotel in Cairo, where players and officials are expected to rest before resuming preparations for the weekend fixture.

Team Manager Philemon Otieno expressed satisfaction with the journey, describing it as trouble-free from start to finish. “We arrived well and it was a smooth journey all the way to Cairo… and we are set to have our first session of training tonight at 8pm,” Otieno said shortly after the team checked in.

The squad will hold a light training session at 8 p.m. tonight, aimed at shaking off the effects of the long flight and acclimatizing to the local conditions.

A second training session is scheduled for tomorrow at the same time, giving the technical bench a final opportunity to fine-tune tactics and assess player fitness before match day.

The match itself is set to be played on Sunday, with the team hoping to carry the momentum of a comfortable arrival into what promises to be a demanding encounter.
