Medeama head coach Ibrahim Tanko says his team is prepared to handle the pressure and intimidating atmosphere expected when they face TP Mazembe.
Tanko acknowledged the pressure that comes with playing in front of passionate supporters but insisted that his players have been adequately prepared for the challenge.
“I think there is pressure in football, and I know how our supporters behave. Definitely, the boys are ready. We have watched a lot of their games and seen how their fans react, so we are prepared for that,” Tanko said.
The Medeama coach believes his players must remain focused on the football rather than be distracted by the atmosphere inside the stadium.
“I don’t think we have to be afraid of the supporters. The ball is on the pitch, and it’s 11 against 11. That’s where my concentration is,” he added.
Tanko will now look to see his side translate their preparation into a strong performance as Medeama take on the Congolese giants in what promises to be a demanding encounter.
