The Malawi Under-20 Men’s National Football Team has this afternoon left for Maputo, Mozambique, ahead of the TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2026 | COSAFA Qualifiers.
The regional qualifiers will be played in Maputo from 18 to 27 September 2026, with Malawi drawn in Group C alongside Zambia, Botswana and Comoros. The Junior Flames departed through Bakili Muluzi International Airport on a chartered flight and arrived in Maputo at 14:30.
Malawi will open their campaign against Zambia on Friday, 18 September, before facing Botswana on 21 September. They will conclude their group-stage campaign against Comoros on 23 September. Head coach Enos Chatama has named a 26-member squad for the tournament as Malawi look to secure qualification for the CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
