Morocco to Face Ghana in October Friendly in Tangier

Morocco will face Ghana in an international friendly on Sunday, October 4, 2026, as part of the Atlas Lions’ preparations during the upcoming FIFA international window.

The encounter will be played at the Grand Stadium of Tangier, bringing together two of Africa’s prominent national teams in what is expected to serve as a valuable preparatory test for both sides.

Morocco head coach Mohamed Wahbi announced a 29-man squad on Thursday as preparations for the international break get underway. The Moroccan camp is scheduled to open next Monday at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, where the players will begin preparations for a busy run of fixtures.

The Atlas Lions will first turn their attention to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, beginning with a home fixture against Gabon on Friday, September 25.

That match will be played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Morocco will then travel to South Africa for their second qualifier, taking on Lesotho on Tuesday, September 29, at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein. The match is scheduled to kick off at 1:00 p.m.

The Ghana friendly will bring Morocco’s international-break programme to a close five days later in Tangier.

For Ghana, the fixture will provide an opportunity to test themselves against Morocco on Moroccan soil, while also offering the technical team another competitive outing against high-level opposition.

The October 4 meeting will therefore conclude a demanding period for Morocco, who are set to combine competitive AFCON qualification matches with a final friendly against the Black Stars.
