He struck again 12 minutes after the restart, capitalising on defensive uncertainty to fire City into a 4-2 lead. Sunderland responded through Brobbey, who completed his hat-trick in the 59th minute, but Erling Haaland eventually sealed the three points for the hosts in the 81st minute.
Semenyo’s display ended his Premier League scoring drought for City and represented his most productive league outing of the campaign so far.
