Vipers got their first win of the season after overcoming league debutants Ntugasaze 3-0 at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende on Saturday.
Gusto Mulongo, Chukwuma Odili and Ceaser Manzoki scored the goals for Denis Lavagne’s side. Mulongo opened the scores in the 27th minute when he nodded home Karim Watambala’s corner kick into the net.
The visitors had opportunities to draw the game level but went to waste before Chukwuma doubled the hosts’ lead in the 60th minute with a fantastic strike after he received a weighted long pass from substitute Farouk Miya.
Manzoki sealed the victory three minutes later when he turned home Usama Arafat cutback into the net with Miya doing the hard work.
Victory comes as a relief to the champions who lost the first game to Entebbe UPPC 1-0. They move into 11th position while Ntugasaze remain rooted to the bottom of the table with zero points after four matches.
