Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz says Ghana must begin laying the foundations for a team capable of competing at the 2030 FIFA World Cup while maintaining focus on the country’s immediate objectives.
Queiroz acknowledged the importance of the challenges directly ahead but stressed that Ghana’s long-term planning must begin now.
“We have an immediate objective that demands our full concentration, but we also have a greater destination ahead of us,” Queiroz said.
The Portuguese coach believes the current period presents an opportunity to develop a new generation of players and establish the foundations of a team that can carry Ghana’s ambitions into the next World Cup cycle.
“This is the moment to start building the team for 2030, a team truly capable of honouring Ghana’s extraordinary World Cup legacy,” he added.
Ghana have a notable history at the World Cup, highlighted by their run to the quarter-finals at the 2010 tournament in South Africa.
Queiroz’s comments underline a dual approach for the Black Stars: addressing their immediate competitive commitments while simultaneously developing the squad and team identity needed for the longer-term objective of the 2030 World Cup.
