Ghana defender Nathaniel Adjei has withdrawn from the Black Stars squad after suffering a hamstring injury.
The FC Lorient defender is expected to spend approximately two to three weeks on the sidelines, ruling him out of Ghana’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Adjei had been included in head coach Carlos Queiroz’s squad for the upcoming international assignments, but the injury has forced him to pull out of the team.
The setback comes as Ghana prepares for a crucial stage of the AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign, with the Black Stars set to begin their preparations without the Lorient centre-back.
Ghana’s technical team will now have to assess their defensive options ahead of the qualifiers as the team looks to secure positive results in the upcoming fixtures.
