Moroccan refereeing has made a new mark on the global stage after FIFA announced the official list of referees who will officiate matches at the U-17 World Cup, scheduled to take place in Qatar.
The list includes the names of two Moroccan referees: Mohamed Al-Baroudi, as the head referee, and Abdel Samad Aberton, as part of the assistant referee team, ensuring that Moroccan refereeing is represented in one of the world’s most prominent youth competitions.
FIFA has selected 81 referees and refereeing officials to participate in the tournament, which Qatar will host from November 19 to December 13, 2026.
The selection of Al-Baroudi and Aberton reinforces the presence of Moroccan referees in international competitions and underscores FIFA’s continued reliance on Moroccan refereeing expertise on the global stage.
