Botswana took a commanding 2-0 lead over Libya at half-time in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier in Tripoli, with Tumisang Orebonye scoring both goals.
The Mighty Zebras started cautiously as Libya looked to establish control, but Botswana remained disciplined and gradually grew into the contest.
Tebogo Kopelang was booked in the 14th minute as both sides battled for control in the opening stages.
After 20 minutes, neither side had managed to break the deadlock, with the score still 0-0.
Botswana eventually found the breakthrough in the 30th minute when Orebonye fired home to put the visitors 1-0 ahead.
The striker struck again in the 41st minute, doubling Botswana’s advantage and completing his brace before the break.
Libya struggled to respond as Botswana protected their lead through the closing stages of the first half.
