Malawi lead South Sudan 1–0 at half-time in their opening Group B match of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, currently being played at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
Adepoju broke the deadlock in the 20th minute, putting the Flames ahead and giving them the advantage heading into the break.
South Sudan will need to react after the interval as the Bright Stars look to find an equaliser, while Malawi will aim to maintain their lead and secure a winning start to their qualifying campaign.
