The Super Eagles of Nigeria have concluded their preparations for Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Guinea-Bissau.
The Nigerian team rounded off its training programme ahead of the crucial Group L encounter, with head coach Eric Chelle and his players focused on securing another positive result in the qualifying campaign.
The Super Eagles arrived in Guinea-Bissau on Sunday following their 2-1 victory over Madagascar in Uyo on Friday.
That result gave Nigeria a winning start to the second matchday and strengthened their position in Group L, after Guinea-Bissau also opened their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Tanzania.
Chelle has been working with his squad to fine-tune the team’s tactical approach, while also addressing areas that need improvement from the Madagascar game.
Nigeria came from behind against Madagascar before goals from George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor secured all three points for the Super Eagles.
However, the coaching staff will be looking for greater defensive concentration and efficiency in front of goal when Nigeria face Guinea-Bissau.
The match will also provide another opportunity for several players to make an impact as the Super Eagles continue their push for qualification for the 2027 AFCON tournament.
Nigeria will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the qualifying campaign, while Guinea-Bissau will be looking to use home advantage to claim another important result.
