The Gambia Scorpions have safely arrived home from Ghana this evening following their remarkable 4-2 away victory against Ghana Black Stars in the Afcon 2027 Qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The team and delegation touched down at the Banjul International airport at 17:55 local time and were received on arrival by GFF President Mr Kemo Ceesay and members of the GFF Executive Committee.
Meanwhile, Sulayman Camara and Ebrima Colley have grapped Unique Group Man of the Match Awards for the Scorpions.
Camara was voted the first Man of the Match in the Gambia Vs Somalia Afcon Match 1 played at home at the Independence Stadium. The Scorpions winger came in as second half substitute, and his performance contributed to our 2-1 win against Somalia.
The Unique Group Man of the Match award went to Ebrima Colley, who put up a brace against the Ghana Black Stars with additional goals from Muhammed Badamosi and captain Omar Colley that earned us a 4-2 victory.
Both awards were presented to the recipients by coach Jonathan McKinstry at the team’s Lancaster hotel in Accra.
