GPL: Agyemang Strike Earns Kotoko First Win Since Tinkler’s Exit

Asante Kotoko secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Karela United on Thursday, with Isaac Opoku Agyemang’s early strike proving decisive at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Opoku Agyemang put the Porcupine Warriors ahead in the 4th minute, finishing early to give Kotoko a dream start to the encounter.

Kotoko maintained their advantage through the remainder of the opening half and went into the break with the lead.

Karela United showed greater intent after the restart as they attempted to find a way back into the contest. However, Kotoko remained disciplined at the back and successfully dealt with Karela’s attempts to level the score.

The Porcupine Warriors held on until the final whistle to claim all three points and, importantly, register their first victory since the departure of former head coach Eric Tinkler.

The result gives Kotoko a much-needed boost as they continue their campaign under new leadership.
