Nigeria’s Super Eagles have stepped up preparations for their international friendly against Russia with the completion of their second training session in Novgorod.

The Nigerian national team continued its build-up on Sunday ahead of Tuesday’s highly anticipated encounter, with 18 players taking part in the latest training session.

The session provided head coach Eric Chelle and his technical crew another opportunity to assess the players available for the clash and work on the team’s tactical approach.

The presence of the 18 players gives the coaching staff valuable time to continue shaping the squad before the meeting with the Russian national team.

For several players, the friendly also represents an opportunity to impress the technical crew and strengthen their claims for future Super Eagles assignments.

Nigeria Face Russia in Novgorod

The Super Eagles will face Russia on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in Novgorod, Russia.
