The Zambia National Futsal Team has suffered a 7–2 defeat to Egypt in the first of two international friendly matches played at the Sports Centre in Cairo, Egypt.

The match forms part of Zambia’s final preparations for the 2026 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, with the two sides scheduled to meet again on Tuesday in the second friendly.

Egypt took advantage of Zambia’s difficult afternoon, with Mohammed Talaat scoring a hat-trick, while Ibrahim Elsayed contributed two goals. Abdelrahman and goalkeeper Ahmad Fikry were also on the scoresheet for the Pharaohs.

Zambia’s goals came from Musa Chiwaya and Royd Chishala. The Zambian side was further disadvantaged after captain Chota Chileshe was shown a red card during the encounter.
