Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has expressed his interest in becoming the next head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, outlining his vision for a more progressive and attacking style of football.
Yorke, who enjoyed a distinguished playing career with Manchester United and Trinidad and Tobago, believes Ghana could benefit from a tactical approach built around playing on the front foot.
“If they [Ghana] want something new and dynamic, then it’s the front-foot type of football that I have studied over the years,” Yorke said.
His comments come at a time when the Ghana Football Association is expected to consider its options for the Black Stars’ next technical direction following the departure of Carlos Queiroz.
Yorke’s philosophy could appeal to those calling for a fresh approach to the national team, particularly with Ghana seeking to rebuild and develop a side capable of competing at the highest level.
The former Premier League striker has previously gained coaching experience and would now be positioning himself as a potential candidate should the Black Stars’ technical committee come calling.
