Ghana’s Black Meteors have been drawn against Libya in the second round of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.
The Black Meteors will travel to Libya for the first leg during the November 9 to 17 international window before returning home to host the decisive second leg. Ghana will need to navigate the two-legged tie successfully to keep their qualification hopes alive.
Should Ghana overcome Libya, they will face either Equatorial Guinea or Niger in the final qualifying round for a place at the 2027 U-23 AFCON tournament.
The Black Meteors are also chasing a bigger objective as they seek to end Ghana’s long wait for a return to the Olympic Games. Ghana’s last appearance in Olympic football came at Athens 2004, making qualification for the 2028 Olympics a major target for the U-23 side.
