Jackson said Villa showed great character against a formidable City side, highlighting the importance of playing with confidence and personality against some of the world’s best players.
“We fought very well as a team and I’m very happy. We know they are a very strong team with some of the best players in the world, so it’s not easy to play against them. We tried to play with personality,” he said.
The Senegalese forward also praised his connection with compatriot Ibrahim Mbaye, who assisted his second goal, revealing that their close relationship helped create the opportunity. Jackson added that he was enjoying life at Villa, praising the dressing room and manager Unai Emery for believing in him.
