The Malawi men’s Under-15s will face Panama in their next Tier C placement match at the FIFA U15 World Cup & Festival 2026 in Baku on Thursday.
The encounter will kick off at 10:15 Azerbaijan time (08:15 in Malawi) on Pitch 2A at the Hovsan Competition Complex, as Joseph Malizani’s side continue their Tournament Stage campaign.
Malawi return to action after defeating Hungary 2-0 in Wednesday’s round of 32 before falling 7-2 to Luxembourg in the last 16 later that evening. Takutzwa Maluwe and Miracle Ndovie were on target against Luxembourg, but four second-half goals ended Malawi’s hopes of reaching the Tier C quarter-finals.
The Junior Flames had earlier secured a place in Tier C after finishing third in Group B with nine points from five matches, recording victories over Chinese Taipei, Oman and Suriname. Malizani’s side have recorded four victories in seven matches at the tournament and will be looking to add to that tally against Panama.
The winner of Malawi’s encounter against Panama will face either Honduras or Thailand later on Thursday, while the losing sides will meet in a separate placement fixture. Both follow-up matches are scheduled for 17:00 Azerbaijan time (15:00 in Malawi) at the Hovsan Competition Complex, with the Tournament Stage concluding on Friday, 30 October.
