A high-ranking delegation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has arrived in Uganda for important planning meetings with the three co-hosts of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations — Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The strategic sessions, scheduled for April 22 to 23 in Kampala, are aimed at reviewing the progress made so far and setting clear priorities for the next stage of preparations for the tournament.
CAF stated that the two-day engagement will bring together major stakeholders to assess critical areas such as stadium and infrastructure projects, transport logistics, security arrangements, and operational plans needed to ensure a successful championship.
The 2027 AFCON hosting rights were awarded to the joint bid known as PAMOJA, involving the three East African nations.
The decision marked a historic moment, as the tournament will return to the region for the first time in decades.
During the visit, CAF officials are expected to hold both separate and combined meetings with representatives from Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda to monitor timelines and ensure all preparations meet continental and global standards.
The Kampala meetings are regarded as a major milestone in the road to 2027, as the three nations continue efforts to deliver a memorable tournament for Africa and the world.
