Tusker defender Oduor explains how coach Mette has improved him

Tusker FC defender Francis Oduor has explained that head coach Julien Mette has played a key role in his resurgence since he took charge of the team, and he believes the best is just getting started.

Oduor, who joined Tusker at the start of the season from KCB has started all the last four matches, and has been part of the rock solid backline that has kept three cleansheets.

Oduor says the coach has helped improve his confidence, since he took charge of the team.

“One change that the coach has made is giving me confidence because I had lost it. The coach gives us all a lot of confidence and believes in everybody. He has given everyone a chance and believes in you. That really motivates you as a player,” said Oduor.

He adds on; “I am really grateful to have earned playing time because it was always my dream to consistently play for Tusker. I was always patient and knew my chance would come so I kept on working in training and on my own to be ready.”

Oduor, who has also played for Bidco United hopes to play a vital role as the team seeks a strong finish to the season, with his eyes pegged on at least winning a trophy in his first season.

“We are taking a game at a time and giving our best in every outing. We are still in contention for the Cup and it is our ambition to try and win it. We are focusing on ourselves and what we can do as a team,” he added.

The team’s focus is on the next league match, against AFC Leopards on Sunday at the Nyayo National Stadium.
