Official: Mali appoints a new coach for the Eagles

The Malian Football Federation has appointed Franco-Portuguese Anthony Da Silva as head coach of the Mali Eagles.

With high expectations to revitalize the national team, the 45-year-old coach’s primary mission will be to qualify the Eagles for upcoming major international tournaments and to instill a new tactical dynamic in a squad with great potential.

Known for his discipline and vision of the game, the new head of the coaching staff will need to quickly find his footing and unite the team’s key players in order to meet the immense expectations of the Eagles supporters.

Anthony Da Silva’s Career

A former rugged defender trained at Paris Saint-Germain who became a true legend at CFR Cluj in Romania (where he won several league titles), Anthony Da Silva, known as Tony, quickly transitioned to the bench after retiring as a player in 2015.

A holder of the UEFA Pro License, he has built up solid coaching experience in Europe, notably in Portugal and in the Romanian first division with Politehnica Iasi.

The African continent is no stranger to him, as he previously served as a video analyst on the Cameroon national team’s staff between 2019 and 2022.
