Ghana’s Black Damsels Drawn in Group B for Title Defence at African Schools Championship

The draw for the 2026 CAF African Schools Football Championship has been conducted, setting the stage for an exciting showdown in Zimbabwe from April 6 to 10.

Defending champions Ghana’s U-15 girls, popularly known as the Black Damsels, have been placed in a competitive Group B alongside Guinea, Tanzania, and Burkina Faso.

Ghana head into the tournament with confidence and expectation, having lifted the trophy in the previous edition to underline their dominance at this level. Their title-winning campaign established them as one of the leading forces in African schools’ football, and they will be aiming to replicate that success on Zimbabwean soil.

Group B presents a balanced yet challenging path, with each opponent bringing distinct strengths and growing pedigree in youth football. Guinea and Burkina Faso represent emerging West African threats, while Tanzania adds East African resilience to the mix.

In Group A, hosts Zimbabwe will face Morocco, Zambia, and DR Congo in what promises to be another tightly contested group.

With the tournament fast approaching, all eyes will be on Ghana’s young talents as they begin their quest to successfully defend their crown and further cement their status as a powerhouse in African youth football.
