World Cup 2026: Fae confident about Ivory Coast’s chance

Following the friendly victory over Scotland, Ivory Coast head coach Emerse Fae expressed his satisfaction with his team’s progress.

Pleased to have regained a solid defensive foundation while improving their attacking efficiency, the Ivorian coach is already looking ahead with determination to the upcoming international fixtures.

“There were times during the qualifiers when we struggled to score goals. Thank God, today we’re managing to be more effective in front of goal. But we’ve still maintained our defensive solidity. It’s true that at the Africa Cup of Nations, we conceded quite a few goals. That’s in the past now. We’ve played two matches and haven’t conceded a single goal. We’ve prepared well for the upcoming training camp, which will be decisive alongside the World Cup camp. We’ll keep working in that direction to be solid there as well. Because we know it’s going to come down to the small details. And we’re going there to make a deep run.”
