Kenya champions Gor Mahia have confirmed the signing of experienced winger David Okoth on a two-year deal.
Okoth arrives at K’Ogalo as one of the FKF Premier League’s most accomplished attacking players, bringing with him a wealth of experience, versatility and a proven ability to both score and create goals.
His spells at Kakamega Homeboyz, Nzoia Sugar and Kenya Police FC has seen him score 36 goals in the top flight and his addition further strengthens Gor Mahia’s squad as the club prepares to defend its league title and compete in the CAF Champions League.
Born and raised in Siaya County, Okoth’s football journey began at Nyadhi Primary School, where he captained his school team before continuing his development through St. Patrick’s School, Mukumu Boys, Bujumba Boys High School, and later Ambira High School.
His steady rise through the ranks reflected the determination and work ethic that have characterized his career.
Following his secondary education, Okoth began his senior career with Bondo United in the Division One League. His impressive performances soon earned him a move to the league with Kakamega Homeboyz, where he would establish himself as one of the country’s most exciting attacking talents.
Okoth produced the finest football of his career for Homeboyz during the memorable 2021/22 season where he was instrumental in guiding the Kakamega-based side to runners-up finish in the league, narrowly missing out on the title.
Over the past few seasons, Okoth has remained a reliable attacking presence, capable of influencing matches whether deployed as a winger, second striker or centre-forward.
