Ghanaian giants Medeama Sporting Club have been handed a challenging fixture in the preliminary stages of the CAF Champions League after being drawn against DR Congo powerhouse TP Mazembe.
The two clubs will battle for a place in the next round of Africa’s premier inter-club competition, with the winner advancing to face either Tunisian side Club Africain or Malian champions Djoliba AC.
The tie against TP Mazembe presents a significant test for Medeama, who will be aiming to make another strong impression on the continental stage. The Congolese outfit boasts a rich history in African football and is regarded as one of the most successful clubs on the continent.
Should Medeama overcome the four-time African champions, they will set up a decisive clash against either Club Africain or Djoliba AC as they continue their quest for a place in the group stage of the 2026/27 CAF Champions League.
