WAFCON 2026: Quarter-Final Line-Up Confirmed as Ghana Draws Malawi

The quarter-final line-up for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) has been confirmed, with eight teams remaining in contention for the continental crown.

The last-eight fixtures will see Côte d’Ivoire face Algeria, while hosts Morocco take on defending champions South Africa.

Ghana’s Black Queens will battle Malawi in another highly anticipated quarter-final, while defending champions Nigeria face Cameroon in an all-West African heavyweight clash.

The confirmed quarter-final fixtures are:

  • 🇨🇮 Côte d’Ivoire vs Algeria 🇩🇿
  • 🇲🇦 Morocco vs South Africa 🇿🇦
  • 🇲🇼 Malawi vs Ghana 🇬🇭
  • 🇨🇲 Cameroon vs Nigeria 🇳🇬

Ghana head into the knockout stage having won just one of their three group-stage matches, making the encounter against Malawi a crucial test for the Black Queens.

Malawi, meanwhile, have already demonstrated their ability to compete against the continent’s best after defeating defending champions Nigeria during the group stage. Their impressive result will give them confidence heading into the quarter-final against Ghana.

Nigeria remain the defending champions and will be determined to keep their title defence alive when they meet Cameroon. The Super Falcons will, however, be wary of a Cameroonian side capable of causing problems in a knockout tie.

With a place in the semi-finals at stake, the quarter-finals promise four fiercely contested encounters as the race for the 2026 WAFCON title enters its decisive stage.
