Plateau United Football Club has suspended its proposed logo modification following concerns and reservations expressed by stakeholders over the planned change.
The club has decided to put the redesign process on hold to allow for wider consultations and greater stakeholder participation before any decision is taken on a new official emblem.
According to the club, three alternative logo designs will be prepared and presented to stakeholders for consideration.
The stakeholders will subsequently have the opportunity to review the proposed designs and select the option they believe best represents the identity and heritage of the Jos-based club.
Until the consultation and selection process is concluded, Plateau United’s existing logo will remain the club’s official emblem.
The decision represents an attempt by the management to address concerns surrounding the proposed modification while ensuring that supporters and other key stakeholders have a voice in determining the club’s visual identity.
Club logos often carry significant historical and emotional value for supporters, representing a team’s heritage, identity and connection with its community.
Consequently, proposed changes to such symbols can generate strong reactions, particularly when stakeholders feel that their views have not been sufficiently considered.
By suspending the redesign and opening the process to further consultation, Plateau United is seeking to build wider consensus before introducing any permanent alteration to its emblem.
The club’s management is expected to unveil the three proposed designs for stakeholders’ consideration, after which a preferred option will be selected.
For now, supporters will continue to see the familiar Plateau United logo on the club’s official materials, as the current emblem remains in use pending the outcome of the consultation process.
