Ghana’s Black Stars have suffered another injury setback ahead of their upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, with experienced defender Abdul Rahman Baba ruled out of the squad.
Baba reported to the Black Stars camp for medical assessment after arriving for international duty. However, following further checks, the left-back was confirmed to be unfit to feature during the upcoming international window.
The development is another blow to head coach Carlos Queiroz, who will now have to make adjustments to his defensive options ahead of Ghana’s upcoming fixtures.
Baba’s experience and versatility have made him an important option for the national team, particularly at left-back, but his injury means he will not be available for the forthcoming AFCON qualifying matches.
