The Court of Cassation has rejected Achraf Hakimi’s appeal against his referral to the Hauts-de-Seine criminal court. The decision, issued on Wednesday, September 23, clears the way for the PSG defender to stand trial over a rape allegation dating back to February 2023.
A young woman accuses Hakimi of imposing sexual penetration on her during a meeting at his home in Boulogne-Billancourt. Hakimi denies the allegation. The Court of Cassation’s decision only concerns the legal challenge to his referral and does not determine his guilt or innocence.
The court has yet to set a date for the trial. Hakimi can now prepare for proceedings before the Hauts-de-Seine criminal court, where the evidence and the opposing accounts will face examination.
