AFCON U-17: Uganda Cubs Take Commanding First-Half Lead Over DR Congo in Morocco

The Uganda Cubs produced a disciplined and clinical first-half performance to take a deserved 2-0 lead against DR Congo at half-time in their U-17 encounter in Morocco.

Uganda started the game with composure and defensive organization, standing firm against the early pressure from the Congolese side in the opening exchanges. The Cubs remained compact at the back while gradually growing into the contest with confidence.

Their breakthrough finally arrived in the 37th minute when Owen Mukisa rose highest inside the box to power home a brilliant header, sending the Ugandan bench into celebration and giving the East Africans a crucial advantage.

With momentum firmly on their side, Uganda struck again deep into first-half added time. Nicholas Kawooya met a delivery at the back post and thundered in another towering header to double the lead before the interval.

The two goals capped off an impressive opening 45 minutes for Uganda, who combined defensive discipline with efficiency in attack to put themselves in a commanding position heading into the second half.

Half-time in Morocco: Uganda U-17 2-0 DR Congo U-17.
