Aigles du Congo to Host APR in CAF Champions League Preliminary Round

Aigles du Congo are set to host Rwanda champions APR in the first leg of the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League on September 5.

The match is scheduled to take place at the Frédéric Kibassa Maliba Stadium in Lubumbashi, with kick-off set for 3:00pm local time, barring any changes to the fixture.

CAF has appointed Benin referee Idissa Abdul to take charge of the highly anticipated encounter as both sides begin their quest to secure a place in the group stage of Africa’s premier club competition.

Aigles du Congo will look to make home advantage count in the opening leg before travelling to Rwanda for the return fixture.

APR, meanwhile, will be aiming to secure a positive result in Lubumbashi to put themselves in a strong position ahead of the second leg.

The tie promises to be a competitive opening-round contest, with both clubs targeting progression to the next stage of the CAF Champions League.
