Al Ahli Tripoli Close In on Signing South African Forward Fagrie Lakay

Libyan powerhouse Al Ahli Tripoli are on the verge of securing the signature of South African forward Fagrie Lakay from Egyptian Premier League side Ceramica Cleopatra.

The club is making significant progress in negotiations and is confident of finalising the transfer as preparations intensify for the upcoming campaign.

Lakay, who has impressed with his attacking quality during his spell at Ceramica Cleopatra, has emerged as one of Al Ahli Tripoli’s top transfer targets as the Libyan giants look to bolster their frontline.

The proposed move reflects Al Ahli Tripoli’s ambition to assemble a stronger squad capable of challenging for domestic honours and competing successfully on the continental stage.

With talks advancing positively, the deal is expected to be completed soon, paving the way for the South African international to begin a new chapter in Libyan football ahead of the 2026/27 season.
