Algeria : new Kabylia stadium project confirmed

Algeria is accelerating the development of its sports infrastructure with a new major project in Béjaïa. Algeria confirmed plans for a 30,000-seat ultramodern stadium, following the presentation of the feasibility study at the provincial headquarters on April 20.

This future venue will complement recent achievements such as the Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium, already considered among the most advanced in Africa. Authorities insist on a strategic location, ensuring smooth accessibility, while integrating modern requirements such as parking areas, road access and high-quality surrounding infrastructure.

This project will make Kabylia a key hub for football development, offering a second top-level facility after the one in Tizi Ouzou. In the middle of this expansion, Algeria aims to meet the growing needs of local clubs like JSM Béjaïa and MO Béjaïa, which currently use the aging Stade de l’Unité Maghrébine.

Beyond regional ambitions, Algeria strengthens its long-term strategy to host major tournaments such as the Africa Cup of Nations, as Algeria continues to invest heavily in world-class infrastructure.
