Ghana international Alidu Seidu has returned to first-team training at French club Rennes after failing to secure a move during the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old defender has also been registered in Rennes’ Europa League squad, potentially opening the door for his return to competitive action after a difficult start to the season.
Seidu is yet to make an appearance in Ligue 1 this campaign, having been linked with a departure from the club during the recently concluded transfer window.
His return to first-team training and inclusion in the Europa League squad could now provide the defender with an opportunity to regain match fitness and work his way back into contention.
The development will also be closely watched by the Ghana national team, with the Black Stars preparing for upcoming fixtures against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia. Seidu will be hoping to get valuable minutes under his belt and put himself in contention for selection.
