Former Black Stars Team Manager Ameenu Shardow is set to take on a new role within the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as Head of Strategic Diaspora Program.
Shardow will reportedly not continue in his position as Team Manager of the senior national team, with the GFA instead assigning him a new responsibility aimed at strengthening the association’s engagement with Ghanaian footballers and stakeholders abroad.
In his new role, Shardow will lead efforts to identify, engage and build relationships with Ghanaian players born or raised outside the country. He will also be tasked with developing stronger partnerships with diaspora-based clubs, academies and football communities.
The former Black Stars team manager is expected to work closely with the GFA Technical Directorate, National Teams Department, Ghana Missions abroad, scouts and parents of Ghanaian players as part of the programme.
His experience in team management and player relations is expected to support the GFA’s efforts to improve talent identification and create a more structured pathway for diaspora-born players to transition into Ghana’s national teams.
Meanwhile, the GFA is expected to announce a new Team Manager for the Black Stars.
