Hansi Flick has already identified his preferred captaincy hierarchy at Barcelona following the departures of Marc-André ter Stegen and Ronald Araújo.
While many expected Frenkie de Jong to inherit the armband, the German coach has chosen a different option. According to Flick, Raphinha will serve as his first-choice captain, with Eric García and Pedri completing the hierarchy as second and third choices.
However, Flick’s choices may not become official immediately. Once the full Barcelona squad returns, the coach reportedly plans to let the players vote for their captains, following the tradition at the Catalan club. The final decision could therefore differ from Flick’s current preference, although Raphinha, García and Pedri currently lead his list.
